Lindsay’s Promise

July 14, 2016

Lindsay came into Cotyso Studio on 29th October 2015. She was surprised by her sister, Lisa, to do a recording experience and sing her favourite song of 'Somewhere Only We Know'. This song will be available to buy in order to raise funds for Manchester Heart Centre and Manchester Royal Infirmary. You can contact Lindsay on her Facebook page, Lindsay's Promise to purchase a physical copy of the CD. You can purchase the song on iTunes, where all proceeds would be going to the charities. Text LEHH, then £1,£2,£3,£4,£5 or £10 to 70070 to donate to the cause, or donate on Lindsay's JustGiving page here - https://www.justgiving.com/LindsaysPromise/ Lindsay's story Lindsay was born in September 1988. She was born with a congenital heart defect and had open heart surgery at just three weeks old. She has had a constant battle of a multitude of illnesses all of her life; this includes

  • Major Spinal Surgeries

  • Brain Surgery

  • Heart Operations

She has now been told that she has a life shortening prognosis. Already defying the prognosis given just over a year ago, Lindsay has always looked on the bright side of life by raising funds and trying to make awareness as congenital. Earlier this year Lindsay sadly lost her friend, a young man that she met through ACHD association. Together, they wanted to try and fund a small unit for young adults with congenital heart disease and they had just started this challenge when Anthony passed away. To help her fulfill her promise and complete her bucket with, Lindsay would like you to buy her charity single. Her and Anthony thought it would be good to attempt to furnish the ward so that young adults could perhaps spend periods of illness on a unit more equipped to allow patients to have a much more chilled out time while on the ward. This would include playing music, relaxing in comfort and have quality time as a young person, and make the most of their time. It also has to be recognised, that there's an amazing team of specialist nurses who run the centre along with other medical colleges. One nurse, Linda, looked after Lindsay at the beginning of her life and the circle is almost complete, as after twenty five amazing years Lindsay and Linda met up again at the the Heart Centre. Linda and her colleagues have been amazing this last two years providing support and advice and most of all love to lots of people with congenital heart disease. It seems almost poignant that as Linda was there at the start of Lindsay's life journey, and is now back supporting her and the family towards the end of Lindsay's journey.   It's so refreshing to see a young adult, who's so passionate about making a change in the world and being determined to help others even though she is battling with her own issues. Again, to donate to this amazing cause then you can text LEHH, then £1,£2,£3,£4,£5 or £10 to 70070 to donate to the cause, or donate on Lindsay's JustGiving page here -   Here is Lindsay's album cover including information from the Hospital -
